CHANGING WILDS
Co-Artistic Director/Composer/Flutes: Robert McIntyre
Co-Artistic Director/Piano: Georgina Lewis
Soprano: Bridgette Kelsey
Cello: Gemma Kneale
Violin: Isabel Hede
MISSION & INSIGHT
Changing Wilds is a project ensemble kindled by Robert McIntyre's 2022-23 Wattle Fellowship, originally founded in 2023 for the world premiere of his titular award-winning song cycle ‘Our Duty to Care’ for soprano and piano trio (with text by Savanna Wegman).
Taking name from Wegman’s affecting text and McIntyre’s third moment, co-artistic directors Robert McIntyre and Georgina Lewis co-lead Changing Wilds in 2025, further establishing its vision to broaden accessibility and safe reflection of complex societal topics and themes through the blend of both discipline and genre.
In tandem, McIntyre’s climate curation series ‘Our Duty to Care’ reignited for its third, sold-out co-presentation with the Melbourne Recital Centre, featured as part of its official 2025 Classical Season and VIP Subscription Packages, in the Primrose Potter Salon.
Next in 2026, Changing Wilds return to the Salon for ‘85 seconds to Midnight’ in collaboration with Melbourne Recital Centre, CLIMARTE, Wattle Fellowship and support provided by the Robert Salzer Foundation to commission and premiere McIntyre’s new piano trio.
